The purpose of this page is to provide facts (so you aren’t confused about food), support (so you don’t feel like the only person in the world who can’t eat a normal sandwich) and to make life a little easier (because, let’s face it, there are times when knowing a witty comeback or hearing about how someone else has coped can make you feel much, much better).

One of the reasons I started this page (and, indeed, my business) is because the experience I encountered when I had my coeliac diagnosis could have been improved.

Admittedly, I was diagnosed back in the 1990s when the internet was very new. There was very little information about and the web wasn’t the essential piece of technology we all have today. If I wanted to go online then I certainly couldn’t do it at home, let alone on a phone. Internet cafes were just beginning to take off but they were expensive and not very useful. Google hadn’t even been invented.

So I was limited to reading books about the disease and receiving Coeliac UK’s material via the post. I had to teach myself a fair amount and I would have loved a swifter route to the understanding I have now.

So if you're keen to know more about coeliac disease or simply need a little humour in your life, you've come to the right place. Click here if you're newly diagnosed or click here for some chuckles.

Coming soon - testimonials!

I always find it comforting to read other people's experiences of coeliac disease. I'm therefore putting together a testimonials page. Want to be part of it? Pop me an e-mail with your details and I'll be in touch!

This website is continually being developed. If you can’t find what you need on the Coeliacs page or in the blog, please let me know and I’ll do my best to provide an answer.
