Cake setup at venues

The utmost care is taken when setting up a cake. We do not accept responsibility for cakes that have been damaged afterwards. The Customer is responsible for ensuring the venue is willing to receive the cake and has taken appropriate measures to ensure the cake’s safety. This includes temperature, positioning, lighting and so forth.

Delivery/Collection

For all cakes collected from The Local Bakehouse, the Customer accepts they will check the cake. Once the cake has left the building or been delivered to the Customer's destination it is agreed the cake design is as specified and the cake is in good condition.

It may be possible to have your cake delivered.  Alternatively, cakes can be collected from The Local Bakehouse by prior arrangement.  Should you require the cake to be delivered outside the Bristol area, separate arrangements will be made.  All delivery times are subject to availability.  If you have a specific delivery date and time please specify this when placing your order.  We will do our best to accommodate requirements.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure you have given us the correct delivery information and that someone is available to receive your cake.  A signature will be required upon receipt of delivery confirming that the order has been received in good condition and as specified.

The Local Bakehouse accepts no responsibility for the care and preservation of the cake once it has been received by the Customer or venue.

If the recipient is not in, the order will be returned to The Local Bakehouse who will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time for which an additional charge will be required by the customer.  The Local Bakehouse accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the Customer as a result – e.g. a birthday without a birthday cake.

Promotional offers, codes & discounts

An offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or promotional offer. Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefits such as discounts or free gifts. These codes are non-transferable so may only be used in accordance with their terms of use. If you use a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit, you will be confirming that:

If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or, alternatively, process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If payment is not made in the time requested, we may reverse the benefit from the promotional offer and request a further payment, or withdraw your order altogether. All deposit(s) made during this time are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If you are unhappy with your cake and wish to raise a dispute, please contact The Local Bakehouse immediately. We will do our best to find out what has happened. Please note all complaints must be made within 7 days of receipt of the cake or the complaint will not be accepted.

The taste or colour of a cake needs to be agreed at a cake tasting prior to the cake being made. It is the Customer's responsibility to have tasted the exact flavours/colours they wish for. The Local Bakehouse does not accept responsibility for the taste of a cake if the Customer has not had a cake tasting. Payment for a cake confirms the Customer is happy with the cake flavour(s) designated.

The Local Bakehouse accepts no responsibility for the taste of a cake 24 hours after it has been collected/delivered. It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure the cake is kept in an appropriate manner to ensure its taste and welfare.
