Where can I find this gluten-free snack?

I'm pregnant. And I'm hungry.

You know, hungry hungry - as in, all the time hungry. And I have a memory of an amazing snack that I can't seem to get my hands on.

Yup, it's this one: Wallaby Bites. Not heard of them? I'm not surprised. The name is a bit of a giveaway. Husband found the snack in Australia when he recently went there on business and bought me a couple of packs.

To a normal person, 300g would last them at least a week, right?

To a Coeliac in a hungry trimester, they lasted about 6 minutes, and that includes the time it took to get the (very well sealed) pack open.

And now I'm stuck because "the perfect little snack" was too little to keep me going until D-Day* and I can't find anything as tasty to replace them.

You may be wondering if I've googled them. Oh yes. Google can provide. The first result to come up offers them in bulk (bulk!!!). The catch? They need to be posted from Australia. And the cost is $93.90 which works out as about nine quid a pack. Yep, that's quite an expensive pregnancy snack.

So I have two pleas:

  1. Do you know anywhere in the UK that stocks these?**

  2. If not, is there a very promising gluten-free alternative?

I also have a vain hope that someone will happen to be down under reading this and venturing back to England on the next plane. With masses of extra room in their luggage (because that always happens) they'll be travelling immediately to Bristol and can stop by with a suitcase full of snacks.

If you can put me out of my misery, I'd be much obliged. Do comment below if you can help!

* That's Due Day, which my tummy knows is still a long way off.

** With P&P as I am now too big to go on a scavenger hunt (although my tummy's trying to tell me otherwise).
